Do You Need a UK ETA?
The UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is required for visa-exempt nationals who wish to visit the United Kingdom for short stays. Understanding your eligibility is the first step in planning your UK journey.
You Need an ETA If:
- •You are a national of a visa-exempt country
- •You plan to visit the UK for tourism, business, or short-term study
- •You are transiting through the UK
- •Your stay will be for 6 months or less
- •You do not currently hold a UK visa
You Don't Need an ETA If:
- •You are a British or Irish citizen
- •You hold a valid UK visa
- •You have UK settlement status or pre-settled status
- •You hold indefinite leave to remain or enter in the UK
- •You are from a country that requires a visa to enter the UK

United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia

- •An ETA does not guarantee entry to the UK. Border officials make the final decision upon arrival.
- •You must have a valid passport for the duration of your stay in the UK.
- •Your ETA is electronically linked to your passport and cannot be transferred.
